HME360 and Harmony AI Transform Consignment Closets into a Scalable Growth Channel for HME Providers

HME360 and Harmony AI Partner to Transform Consignment Closets into a Scalable Growth Channel for HME Providers

Collaboration reflects the HME360 mission to unlock growth by modernizing one of the most complex areas of the HME workflow.

Houston, TX, February 27, 2026 – HME360®, the only inventory optimization platform built for home medical equipment (HME) providers by HME operators, today announced a strategic collaboration with Harmony AI, an agentic workflow automation platform built by AI researchers, to redefine how consignment closets operate, turning a historically fragmented model into a digitally connected growth engine.

Despite advances across healthcare, many consignment closets still rely on paper processes, delayed documentation, and manual data entry, leading to inventory discrepancies, write-off risk, and an administrative burden for providers and clinical partners alike.

“Consignment closets have historically been a necessary but problematic strategy – often a blind spot within an increasingly sophisticated and rapidly evolving HME workflow environment,” said John Skoro, Co-Founder of HME360. “As the industry modernizes, providers need these access points to operate with the same intelligence, accountability, and real-time precision as the rest of their business. This initiative is about elevating consignment closets to that standard.”

The HME360 and Harmony AI collaboration introduces an AI-enabled approach that replaces fragmented workflows with a modern digital experience that improves visibility, accountability, and operational control.

At the center of the collaboration is Harmony AI’s ability to automate the intake process for consignment closets, historically the largest source of referral friction. Manual data entry, incomplete or non-compliant referrals have long exposed providers to write-offs and delayed downstream billing. Harmony reads faxed referrals, verifies patient benefits, and qualifies orders to streamline intake.

“Manual intake has been one of the biggest barriers to efficient consignment workflows,” said Siddharth Jindal, CEO of Harmony. “By automating intake, from reading faxed referrals to verifying benefits and qualifying orders in minutes, we unlock HME360’s fully digital consignment workflow, enabling insurance-aware, revenue-ready deliveries in near real time.”

Together, Harmony and HME360 enable providers to move from intake to delivery in minutes, while supporting tighter alignment with downstream billing ecosystems such as Brightree and WellSky.

Early Rollout with Independent Medical Equipment

The first implementation is launching with Independent Medical, an existing HME360 customer operating multiple consignment closets. The rollout begins with an initial hospital location, with plans to expand across additional sites.

“Consignment closets are critical access points for patient care, yet they remain operationally complex – and providers are frequently denied access to Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems,” said Lonnie Dorcey, CEO of Independent Medical Equipment. “By uniting HME360 and Harmony AI, we meet referral sources where they are – at the fax – and intelligently transform referrals, inventory, and billing into a revenue-accelerating engine. The result is expanded growth opportunities with reduced risk and dramatically less manual effort.”

This rollout introduces a new service model for consignment closets, built around automation, accountability, and improved collaboration between providers and referral sources. Providers using consignment closets can shift from reactive inventory management to proactive inventory optimization, supporting scalable growth.

A New Standard for Consignment Closet Performance

The collaboration fundamentally reshapes the risk profile of consignment closets, enabling providers to stay compliant while leveraging consignment closets as a scalable growth channel by:

  • Reducing write-off risk and administrative burden
  • Minimizing labor required to deliver equipment and supplies
  • Automatically capturing the clinical data elements and patient signatures required by insurance carriers
  • Providing faster access to care for referral sources

“This is not about incremental improvement,” Skoro added. “It’s about modernizing how consignment closets operate so they support growth, accountability, and patient responsiveness in a digital-first healthcare environment.”
